Collection History: Donated by Dean Fred B.R. Hellems, 1930
According to Le Rider‘s die study, coins such as this one, 1/5 tetradrachms with the Apollo obverse, horse and rider reverse, and a ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ inscription were minted at Amphipolis and Pella. This coin does not match a die in Le Rider’s study, and its control mark is off the flan, therefore it is indeterminate whether it is Philip I or Philip II. John Nebel 2013.
